
Sheena Pasricha is an experienced hand therapist with 15 years of experience. She is extremely knowledgeable and well versed in all aspects of the Upper Extremity and performs the latest manual techniques and fabricates a wide array of advanced splinting required to maximize upper extremity recovery.
Sheena Pasricha graduated with a BS in Occupational Therapy from New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY in 2001 completing her hand internship in the Bronx at Montefiorre Hospital..
Once graduated she accepted an offer with Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation and treated inpatient Spinal Cord Injured patients and quickly moved up the ladder.
She presented at the Annual Conference of the American Occupational Therapy Association in May, 2002 in Miami Beach on her Research; Plagiarism in Allied Health Education: A Quantitative Study. In 2002, She also published narratives in a psycosocial education book : Client-Centered Reasoning: Narratives of People with Mental Illness.
In 2004, she injured her own hand and it evoked her interest in hand therapy once again leading her to transfer to outpatient hand therapy. Where she soon became the Senior OT with her main focus was developing the hand therapy program and providing mentorship to less experienced staff and MD outreach.
In 2007, Sheena obtained her Certificate in Upper Extremity Rehabilitation from Drexel University in Philadelphia PA. In 2010 Sheena obtained her CHT after sitting for the exam for the first time.
Throughout her career, she worked alongside experienced therapists and surgeons who are widely regarded as leaders in their fields, and provided opportunities to learn and practice the most current approaches in upper-extremity rehabilitation. Sheena also has presented with various Hand Surgeons at several conferences, Inservice & was a CEU provider to Doctors, Nurses, Physical & Occupational Therapist and Worker’s Compensation Nurse Case Managers.
